::One More::

I would give everything I am right now
to be with you, wherever you are.
Just collapse in your arms and cry,
and beg to stay for just one night.
Thats all my heart needs to feel,
to remember how to beat again,
my fingers to memorize your face.
I'd follow your eyes to your soul,
and be whole till the night can't last.
Then I'd wake as I have for years,
with a dream of you I can't erase.

- Pieces of Us -

I bury my face between your shoulder and neck,
As we dance to the love we've found in each other.
I'm stroking your face for the thousandth time,
And reveling in eyes that caress me from within.
Listening to your heart beat, holding you at night,
Every time you smile I fall in love with you again,
One glimpse in your eyes and my heart knows why.
I never felt more beautiful than I am in your eyes.
I couldn't believe someone like you could love me,

Half my heart is in Iraq and half yours is with me.

Pieces, strewn accross 7,000 miles and held together in God's loving embrace. Together, in Him, we're whole, but distant, just in spaces, we'll pick them up and run to each other. Back together, whole, hopefully long enough for the glue to set before we have to say goodbye again. We are "stuck together" and its beautiful. We can be pulled apart and never seperate. Never. My love, my life, you're never farther than my heart beat.

How long had I lived without feeling alive?
Not knowing how love tasted or felt inside;
I was buried beneath my failures and pride,
So lost and alone and far from myself.
I was a girl I had never chanced to meet.
But you found me hiding beneath my skin,
And showed me beauty in the life I hid from.
I'll never forget when I first saw you smile,
how your eyes burned a home in my soul.
I shimmered between love and the fear of it.
But I never could close my eyes and forget,
because you were there, every time I ran away,
until I finally wearied and ran to you.
I learned in your love that there is beauty,
in your touch that there is life and longing,
and in your kiss that I was finally alive.
I love you Nathan, and I'm never letting go.

To my strength, my baby, my husband, lover, my best friend. The one I live without but cannot. Somehow we find strength to render this distance meaningless and love to bridge it.
